First time in LA? Here are some of our favorite restaurants.
HOLLYWOOD
- Shintaro: Our favorite sushi in LA! Sit at the bar and ask for Bobby. (Don't worry, all the best sushi in LA is in strip-malls)
- Delancey: Delicious pizzas, pastas, and cocktails. Enough said.
- Roscoe's: Chicken and waffles - an LA institution. Excellent for Sunday morning booze absorption.
MIDCITY/FAIRFAX
- Animal: Incredible California American cuisine. Vegans/vegetarians flee at first sight of this restaurant.
- Son Of A Gun: This is essentially the seafood version of Animal by the same chef/owners - one of our all time favorites.
- Terroni: Our favorite Italian place! I want to go right now. Top notch cocktails. They also serve brunch. Again, a good carb heavy booze absorption destination.
- Canters: A Franklin family favorite. Marvin and Gina Franklin have been eating here for nearly 90 years. Get your pastrami and matzo ball soup fix. It's the best deli in town.
LOS FELIZ
- Messhall: Our local haunt. Great California fare and A+ cocktails (we like cocktails, ok!!!!)
- Jitlada: This is the best Thai food in LA. It's technically in Little Armenia, but it's close enough. No reservations.
- Alcove: A nice lunch spot with outdoor seating. Great salads and sandwiches.
SILVERLAKE
- Blossom: This is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The Pho is amazing!
- Trois Familia: French-Mexican cruisine. It's incredible. There are no reservations, so expect a short wait if it's the weekend. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
- Forage: This is your destination for stereotypical LA health food. That aside, there are plenty of non-healthy delicious treats and meats as well.
